A pretty touching video that, through story and acting, manages to tug at our heartstrings without complex CGI. I love videos that move us emotionally and make us think: the combination isn’t always easy to pull off. Highlights:

First, to address a cultural point. I think it’s safe to suggest that several Asian cultures can be relatively conservative, and that having a baby out of wedlock can often be seen in as immensely shameful to both the mother-to-be and the family.

The soothing music and the first part of the video showcasing the father’s loving relationship with his daughter… draws us in. I’d add too that on closer inspection the believably aged father looks pretty similar to the baby father, great work on that.

The brilliance comes when the image of the howling pregnant daughter transitions to flashbacks of the daughter as a crying baby, transporting us back and reminding us that he’s always been there. He’s always been the father to his daughter, and despite the years, remains just so.

Hope you enjoyed that. You might be interested also in the previous Share Sunday’s powerful, reflective and profound story. Have a great day!
