What if Tim Burton made a cake? If you need some context, Tim Burton is famous for his dark, quirky-themed movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Dark Shadows, and for blockbusters such as Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Batman, Batman Returns, Planet of the Apes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland. It’s a beautiful, whimsical cake, and the incorporation of movement in the cake to produce an animated effect was really smart. Stop motion animation was used for “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, and the cake’s “animations” seemed to fit that movie’s theme. The final reveal (above) was a nice touch as well, and you can see the protagonist’s face from the details on the cake on top. All in all, a creative, unique effort that had all the right details for a themed celebration!
